Summer is quickly approaching and as we have been hunkered down and physical distancing, we have been reviewing and revising our operating procedures to ensure Silvertip Lodge and Cabins is ready when restrictions are lifted and it is safe to travel again. Here’s an update on a few key points of our plan for this summer to minimize risks to your family and ours.
We realized that Silvertip is already set up to provide small groups with a private setting conscientious of physical distance. Good news! Providing couples, families, and small groups with custom, private vacation packages is our specialty. Our cabins are private, spread out, and provide you with your own space while enjoying the vast landscape that Alaska has to offer. Our guided trips have always been available in a small group, private settings that adhere to probable future recommendations by the local and federal authorities.
Cleanliness has always been a top priority, but we are taking extra precautions. We have a proven track record of cleanliness, as so many of our wonderful guests have mentioned in reviews. This will serve as a great starting point! We will be working with a linen service this summer to ensure that all bed and bath linens are not just washed and cleaned, but fully sanitized. We are increasing our deep cleaning and disinfecting efforts between groups in each cabin. Additionally, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be readily available for guest use in all common areas.
In response to Covid-19, we have revised our cancelation policies for 2020 to provide guests with worry free booking options. If the virus impacts your ability to safely and confidently travel, you have three options. (1) You can reschedule for later dates in 2020, (2) you can apply your payment as a credit towards a future trip in 2021 or beyond, or (3) you can receive a refund less a 5% fee to cover our costs of making the reservation. Bottom line, we want your trip to Alaska to be something to look forward to, not something to cause financial anxiety.
Whether you are already booked for 2020 or you are considering making a new reservation for this year or beyond, we hope this helps put you at ease. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to hear from you. All of us at Silvertip Lodge and Cabins are ready and patiently waiting. When it’s safe, we look forward to meeting you around the campfire.

We are Andrea and Jeremy Anderson. The summer of 2026 marks our 23rd year in the tourism industry helping people plan the best fishing and sightseeing vacations on the Kenai Peninsula, and our 11th season operating Alaska Silvertip Lodge and Cabins. In the spring of 2016, we purchased Silvertip Lodge and Cabins from Dean and Mary Talley, who built the first cabin in 1999.
Andrea grew up in California but fell in love with Alaska after visiting her grandparents in Cooper Landing. After graduating college in 2004, she moved up to Cooper Landing and worked in nearby Moose Pass. Jeremy grew up in Wisconsin, and in 2001 he spent his first summer in Alaska working at the Russian River Campground. Jeremy spent the next few years working as a rafting guide on the Upper Kenai River. In July 2004, Andrea and Jeremy met and began a great adventure on the Kenai Peninsula.
Over the past 23 years, Andrea and Jeremy have developed a diverse set of skills in the Alaskan tourism industry and have spent countless hours recreating outdoors. Andrea has worked as a guide for several rafting companies, ran a fishing lodge, and currently manages reservations, logistics, and accounting for Alaska Drift Away Fishing. Jeremy is co-owner of Alaska Drift Away Fishing and guides on the river for trout and salmon.
